South Africa's Gauteng and Free State provinces are complete opposites in many respects, although both are inland provinces. While Gauteng is seen as the business capital, the Free State is known as the country's biggest agricultural industry landmark, and yet both host wild game farms.

Johannesburg, beneath its purple jacaranda coating, is South Africa's largest and most populous city and enjoys the fact that it's situated in the country's wealthiest province. The city is surrounded by mineral-rich fields of gold and diamonds and offers a wide variety of game-viewing when you travel as little as half an hour outside the city.

Johannesburg also encompasses Soweto, a township that was established during the apartheid era for migrant workers and is now a national historical site and a home to a vibrant population.

Although these two regions differ immensely, neither is lacking as South African tourist attractions. Both beautiful in their own way, they share two things. Firstly, flowers - Johannesburg and Pretoria with their jacarandas and Bloemfontein with its roses. Secondly, both are highly sought after in the property market, especially for avid safari-goers.

Just a forty minute drive west of Johannesburg and Pretoria and north of Bloemfontein is the picturesque Magaliesburg mountain range. Tucked away between the foothills is the Pecanwood Golf Estate, which offers fractional investors the chance to play a game of golf on a Jack Nicklaus signature course.

Parys is located on the Free State side of the Vaal River and was named after the French capital by a German surveyor in 1870, who allegedly said the town and river reminded him of its European namesake. A prime Highveld resort centre, Parys offers all sorts of activities like fishing, swimming, river rafting and boating. Here the Vaal River divides into a network of streams which flow around islands, some of which have been developed for leisure and recreation. Golf Island, reached via a picturesque suspension bridge, hosts a nine-hole course.

These destinations are not just prime tourist spots, but property in both Gauteng and the Free State province is available on the fractional property market.
