When and where did Dial An Exchange first open its doors for trading?
[BCW] Dial An Exchange (DAE) is the world’s leading privately owned timeshare exchange company, established in Australia in 1997, and still owned and managed by founder and CEO, Francis Taylor.
How has the company grown it’s global footprint since then?
[BCW] DAE has now expanded to service nearly all corners of the globe, with offices located in Australia, New Zealand, UK, USA, South Africa, China, Thailand and India. As well as the countries where they are located these offices service most major regions including Europe, North Africa, the Pacific, Canada, Middle East, Central America and the Caribbean and South America.
Which international countries / resorts do the majority South Africans prefer to vacation?
[BCW] Australia, Thailand and Spain.
What lifestyle category of global vacation resorts are most popular – ones by the ocean or perhaps ski resorts?
[BCW] Beach and water-based holidays are by far the most popular across all regions. There is also a strong preference for resorts that offer a wide range of facilities, activities and experiences within or very close to the resort environment, particularly for families. The most emerging trend in destination selection is for 'experiential' destinations that offer unique and iconic natural and/or cultural experiences.

Does DAE live offer it’s members the facility to exchange into other types of vacation real estate – such as a fractional ownership residence or Private Residence Club?
[BCW] DAE accommodates all type of Vacation real estate including fractional ownership, private residence club, timeshare and points club. We also offer exchange into non-timeshare resorts through our DAE Options program. In addition, in co-operation with resort management companies, DAE offers a program to strata title holiday owners to bank their unused inventory into our system and take advantage of being able to exchange worldwide.
Can any one of your members choose allocate their usage period to a friend or family member?
[BCW] Members can allocate their usage to family and friends, and unlike others we do not charge a guest certificate fee. Members can also purchase Bonus and Discount Rental Weeks on behalf of family and friends.
How has the internet assisted the growth of your business?
[BCW] Our early adoption and subsequent development of a world’s ‘best practice’ real time online Exchange Management System underpins our mission to provide a low cost, efficient, friendly and transparent holiday exchange service. DAE members can view, hold, book and pay for their exchanges instantly 24/7 on our user-friendly website. There are no delays, complicated rules, trading powers, demand tables or other factors to complicate the process. It's a simple 'week-for-week' exchange system. As a result, a significant majority of our business is now conducted online.
Have you seen an increase in the amount of inbound exchange requests to South Africa over the 2010 FIFA world cup period?
[BCW] Absolutely. Stock management has kept inventory for this huge event and it is going quickly. |
